Hotel Policies

Guests are taken to have read these booking terms and conditions carefully as they incorporate the basis upon which Bright Chalet bookings are accepted.

PRICES AND GST:
Prices are quoted in Australian dollars and are on a per room per night basis. The rates are subject to change without notice. All prices include GST.

ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE:
Check-in time: 2pm or later. Should you arrive prior to 2pm, the guest may store their luggage at reception until time of check-in. Check-out time: 10am. Late check-out is any time after 10:00am and is subject to availability.

BOOKINGS:
Rates quoted are based on the number of occupants and length of stay and any alterations to these details may affect the nightly rate charged.

GUARANTEED RESERVATIONS:
Guaranteed reservations bookings require a valid credit card number to guarantee your reservation. Your card will not be charged in advance, unless stated on the rate at the time of booking, and will be held as security for your reservation and utilised for any applicable cancellation or non-arrival fees. Unless an alternative valid card or method of payment is provided upon check-out, this card will be used for all outstanding accommodation and ancillary costs and for any loss or damage to the room during the stay. Advance purchase or prepaid rates will be charged at the time of booking, as marked on the rate description.

PAYMENT AT CHECK-IN:
Full payment for accommodation is required at check-in. We accept Visa, Mastercard & Cash. Payment via third party credit cards may be required by contacting the hotel directly. For travellers without a credit card, photo ID will be requested and full cash payment of accommodation plus a AUD$100 bond for incidental charges will be required at check-in.

PARKING:
Bright Chalet offers free outdoor parking, subject to availability. This does not require an advanced booking.

VISITORS:
All visitors are required to vacate the building by 11pm. Only registered guests are permitted to stay after 11pm.

EXCESSIVE NOISE & BEHAVIOUR POLICY:
Bright Chalet retains the right to evict a guest or visitor without warning, should there be a breach of its terms and conditions. Any physical, psychological or verbal abuse towards staff, guests or security personnel will result in immediate eviction from Bright Chalet. All damage caused by a guest will be charged to the guest’s credit card. Any guest or visitor found to be creating excessive noise, will be evicted without refund.

EVICTION OF A GUEST:
Bright Chalet will evict a guest or visitor without warning, should conditions warrant including: Intoxication and unbecoming, rude or threatening behaviour, Physical or verbal assault towards staff or other guests, Wilful damage to Bright Chalet property, Any incident for which the police need to be called onto the premises, Any behaviour posing a safety threat to others, Ignoring advice to reduce excessive noise (music or other noise), Throwing of objects from balconies or from windows, Smoking ($250 cleaning and deodorising charge will be applied).

IDENTIFICATION:
Adequate identification is required at time of check-in at Bright Chalet. A current driver’s licence, passport or other form of photo identification (ID) will be accepted as satisfactory ID at check-in. Bright Chalet requires all credit card usage to be accompanied by an official Government issued ID which includes a photo and is valid at the time of the guest’s arrival. This ID may be copied and stored as record that Bright Chalet has verified the ID of the guest and the guest’s authority to use their credit card. All personal information contained on the collected identification will be securely stored and completely disposed of at the end of its usefulness.

SERVICES PROVIDED:
All bed linen, bathroom towelling and kitchen tea towels are provided. A complimentary selection of guest bathroom amenities is also supplied. Bright Chalet offers a daily housekeeping service. Should during your stay, a guest require additional housekeeping, this may be provided upon request – an extra charge will be incurred. Reception may provide additional toiletries/towels upon request free of charge.

UNACCOMPANIED MINOR/S:
A child who is staying without the accompaniment of a parent, guardian or adult over the age of 18 years is considered an unaccompanied minor. An unaccompanied minor/s may be permitted to stay at Bright Chalet only if they can satisfy the normal payment, bond and identification requirements. Bright Chalet strongly discourages the accommodation of minors staying alone without adult supervision for safety reasons. Bright Chalet does not accept any responsibility for injury caused by an unsupervised minor staying in our apartments, nor does Bright Chalet provide the service of supervising and caring for a minor during their stay.

LIMIT OF LIABILITY:
Bright Chalet does not accept any liability whatsoever for any injury damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond its control including, but not limited to, war, civil disturbance, terrorism, fire, floods, acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, accident to or failure of machinery or equipment, maintenance requirements or industrial action.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
In the event that a guest fails to pay immediately upon demand any amount owing to Bright Chalet, pursuant to the booking and accommodation, Bright Chalet reserves the right to deny access to the guest and ask that they vacate the premises. If in the event that a guest has caused damage to the property or effected other guests occupants of the property, Bright Chalet reserves the right to ask that guest to leave and forfeit any monies paid and will require the guest to pay for any damage caused. If a guest occupant behaves in an unacceptable or aggressive manner to other guests occupants or Bright Chalet  security staff, or is suspected of carrying out illegal acts on the premises, that guest occupant will be asked to leave and the appropriate authorities will be notified. All monies paid will be forfeited. Bright Chalet takes no responsibility for any personal possessions that are lost, stolen or misplaced whilst on the premises. In that regard, we recommend that our guests obtain an appropriate level of travel insurance.

RIGHT OF ENTRY:
Bright Chalet retains the right that, in the event that Management has a legitimate cause for concern that a guest has not been seen or been able to be contacted over a period of time, the room may be entered by the Management or a delegate to ensure the safety and comfort of other guests and our property.

FORCE MAJEURE:
Guests and booking agents of Bright Chalet are allowed partial impossibility in an agreement (Accommodation Reservation and or Function Reservation), where the performance of the agreement by either party is subject to acts of God, war, terrorism, government regulations, national disaster, strikes, civil disorder or curtailment of transportation facilities beyond the control of the parties making it inadvisable, illegal, or impossible to fulfil some or all of the agreement. The Agreement may be terminated without penalty for any one or more of such reasons by written notice from one party to the other.

FREE INTERNET:
Bright Chalet offers free internet. Bright Chalet has a fair use policy in which guests’ download speeds will be reduced should the reasonable download limits be exceeded.

Gilandos Pty Ltd (trading as Bright Chalet) operates and/or manages the hotel listed on this website. Bright Chalet is committed to ensuring your personal information is protected. Bright Chalet understands and appreciates you are concerned about your privacy and about the confidentiality and security of information we may collect about you. This will explain how we manage your personal information.

In addition to this Privacy Policy, there may also be specific and additional privacy provisions, which apply to our collection and use of your personal information e.g. information provided when participating in a promotion, entering a competition, subscribing to a newsletter, or participating in a survey. If there is any inconsistency between this Privacy Policy and those specific and additional provisions, the specific and additional provisions will prevail.

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU:
The types of personal information we collect about you will depend on what services you use or products you acquire. This may include collecting your name and address, your email address, your contact address, credit card details, payment and transaction details/history and, where you have the option to comment on our services or products, whatever other information you choose to supply to allow us to provide products and services to you.

HOW PERSONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED AND HELD:
We may collect your personal information in relation to your interactions and transactions with us. This includes; making a purchase at a hotel or making a hotel reservation online; participating in a promotion, competition, or survey; using your number or associated identifiers such as payment cards; registering for services; using related digital services. We hold personal information electronically and in hard copy form, both at our own premises and with the assistance of our third party service providers. We implement a range of measures to protect the security of that personal information.

COOKIES:
We collect cookie information when you visit our website.  Cookies are pieces of information that a website can transfer to an individual’s computer hard drive for record keeping. The use of cookies is an industry standard and many websites use them. Cookies are useful for facilitating a user’s access to and use of a site. They allow us to track usage patterns and compile data that can help us improve our services to you. Cookie information is used in aggregated form – we do not use it to identify you as an individual. However, if you do not wish any information to be collected through the use of cookies you can change the functions in most web browsers to deny the cookie feature. You can also delete cookies from your hard drive at any time.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION AND WHO WE MAY DISCLOSE IT TO:
The information that we collect from you is strictly confidential. We do not sell, rent, loan, trade or lease the addresses stored in our database to any unrelated third parties. Bright Chalet uses the information you provide to us to help you access the services or acquire the goods that Bright Chalet provides more easily. We also use personal information to administer, improve our products and services and tailor them to your interests. We may also send you marketing material about products and services we believe are suited to you and your interests and communicate with you using social media channels and platforms. If you do not wish to receive any of this material you may simply choose “unsubscribe” from our mailing list or contact us using the details below, and no further material or communications will be sent to you.

Gilandos Pty Ltd manages a number of businesses as subsidiaries of Bright Chalet (Including Bright Chalet Ski Hire, Mountain Trader, Leif and Co. Restaurant, and Bright Chalet Tours). Bright Chalet shares customer personal information with these subsidiaries and their employees to allow them to undertake similar functions as Bright Chalet, as described in this Privacy Policy.

Bright Chalet engages certain trusted third parties (including data hosting and processing companies, and information technology providers and operators of social media channels and platforms) to help us provide, improve and promote our services and communicate with our customers. We will only disclose your personal information to these third parties to perform tasks on our behalf and in compliance with this Privacy Policy. These third parties may be located in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, India, Germany, Austria and the United States of America. We take steps to ensure that our service providers are obliged to protect the privacy and security of your personal information and use it only for the purpose for which it is disclosed. In providing us with your personal information, you consent to this disclosure.

Our hotel and ski hire use a reservation system that allows those services to view and access customer personal information on our system (for example to view past booking and transaction details). In providing us with your personal information, you also consent to the disclosure of your personal information to all subsidiaries owned, managed or operated by Gilandos Pty Ltd.

Bright Chalet will not disclose your personal information for purposes or to parties other than those outlined above without your consent.

USER GENERATED CONTENT:
If you respond to a post guest survey, post reviews or comments on the site or provide other written feedback to Bright Chalet (“Response”), you grant Bright Chalet a non-exclusive, royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display the Response throughout the world in any media. You also grant Bright Chalet and sub licensees the right to use the name that you submit with any Response if any, in connection with the Response.

COMPETITIONS:
From time to time, Bright Chalet may conduct competitions on its website. When these competitions are run, you may also be given the choice of being on a mailing list to receive further contact from us. Unless you choose to receive further communications from Bright Chalet, the information we collect from your entry in the competition is not used for any purposes other than the competition.

LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES:
Bright Chalet’s website provides links to websites outside of the Bright Chalet’s services. These linked sites are not under our control, and we are not responsible for the conduct of companies linked to our website. Before disclosing your personal information on any other website, we advise you to examine the privacy policy and terms and conditions of that website.

STORAGE AND SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION:
Any personal information that we collect about customers, including email addresses, will be kept in the Bright Chalet’s database. The database will be accessible only by those authorised to perform normal daily tasks such as updating addresses. Bright Chalet will take all reasonable precautions to protect the personal information it holds from any misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

The internet is not a secure environment. If you use the internet to send us any personal information, Bright Chalet will not be liable for events arising from unauthorised access to your information.

ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION:
You have a right to access and correct most of the personal information we hold about you. If you wish to have access to or correct your information, please send us an email or letter at the addresses provided below. If Bright Chalet does not allow you to access or correct your personal information we will provide you with the reasons for our decision.

ACCURACY OF YOUR INFORMATION:
Once we receive personal information from you, we take all reasonable steps to ensure that all the information we collect, use or disclose is accurate and up to date. If you think that any of your personal information held by us in inaccurate, please send us an email or letter at the addresses provided below and we will take reasonable steps to ensure that it is corrected.
